Description

This 90-minute lecture on how the Luo-collateral system uses blood to preserve our sanity when we interact in a world of chaos and conflict. As health care providers we need to learn how to develop a state of compassionate detachment which allows us to engage with our patients’ suffering without being invested in it. It takes time to develop this awareness or consciousness. How then do we manage our interaction with patients who have suffered terrible challenges and tragedies without being negatively impacted by them?  We will discuss how the Luo-collateral’s relationship between ying qi and blood provides a way for preserving our sanity until we can, over time, develop more consciousness in our relationships.  We will discuss how the connection between ying qi, blood and the pericardium loop, provides an avenue for the rationalization of uncomfortable experiences.

Learning Objectives
1. Participants will explore how ying qi is tied to emotional states and learn to recognize constraint in emotional processing.

2. Participants will review the function & pathologies associated with the 3 circuits of the ying qi cycle.

3. Participants will learn how to recognize latency in the Luo-collateral system.

4. Participants will learn a simple technique for releasing that latency and the emotional constraint associated with it.
